Dart Offers Four Engine Possibilities

Either a 6-cylinder 198 C.I.D. engine or a 318 cubic inch two-barrel V-8 power plant is standard for all 1974 Dodge Dart models except for the Dart 360 Sport which comes only with the new 360 C.I.D. four-barrel V-8 high performance engine. Available as an option for all but the Dart Sport is a 225 cubic inch 6-cylinder engine.

Disc Brakes for Big Engines

Front disc brakes are standard in 1974 for all Dodge Darts powered by 8-cylinder engines. A new brake lining material provides better friction stability than in previous models.

Rallye Package Transforms Dart

A Rallye package for the 1974 Dart Sport is designed for the economy-minded car buff. It includes a 318 C.I.D. 2-barrel V-8 engine with 4-speed transmission, heavy duty suspension, E70 x 14 raised white-letter tires, Rallye wheels, Tuff steering wheel, power steering, deluxe vinyl seat or optional bucket seats, and Dodge logo mounted on the rear quarter panel.

Call It Convertriple

Equipped with optional factory-installed metal sun roof and fold-down rear seat package, the 1974 Dodge Dart Sport becomes three cars in one, offering the features of a conventional 5-passenger coupe, a convertible, or an economy station wagon. Dodge calls it a "Convertriple".

Dart In Two Sizes

Dodge Dart continues to offer two wheelbases for 1974. The Dart Sport and Dart 360 have a 108-inch wheelbase, and the Dart, Dart Custom, Dart Swinger, and Dart Swinger Special have a 111-inch wheelbase.

Feature In Dart

As in all Dodge cars, electronic ignition is standard on the 1974 Dart. Virtually maintenance free with no points or condensor to replace, the system prolongs spark plug life and provides more dependable starting.

Dart's Appeal Spans Age Gap

A choice of six models plus a variety of options and option packages are offered by Dodge Dart in 1974 to continue the wide market appeal that has made it one of the best selling U.S.-built compacts.

The youthful look of the semi-fastback Sport two-door coupe and the Dart 360 Sport is balanced by the more conventional four-door Dart and Dart Custom, while the two-door hardtop Dart Swinger and Swinger Special literally "swing" in appeal to both youthful and over-30 drivers of both sexes.

Sporty Touch

The popular "up and over" exterior body stripe is a no-cost option for the 1974 Dart Sport and 360 Sport.

Colorful Lineup

The 1974 new model Dart is available in a range of 16 colors with the addition of ten new colors. Included among the new shades are two each in blue, gold, green and red, Moonstone Metallic and Yellow Blaze.
