Dart for both the 1972 model and calendar years sold at record proportions. The 231,180 unit sales in calendar year 1972 was the best in the 11 years since the Dart nameplate was introduced.
Anticipated increases in the overall U.S. auto market make it very likely that Dodge Dart will maintain continued buyer interest.
"In order to assist dealers to continue the sales pace generated by the Dart Sport, which was new in 1973," said Dodge general sales manager Robert D. Loomis, "we're pleased to announce the Dart Sport Topper Package."
In the Topper, Dodge makes available to dealers the Dart Sport with a free canopy vinyl roof when the car is ordered with the new value, comfort and style package of the following options: interior decor group with simulated woodgrain panels and pleated vinyl trim, bright bumper guards, deluxe wheel covers, white sidewall (6.95 x 14) tires and an "Up & Over" tape stripe.
Additional options not in the package, but available on the Topper-equipped Sport are Rallye road wheels and either front vinyl bucket seats or a split back bench seat with center arm rest.
