Editors: The following "filler" items are designed for use in your new-car or auto-show special sections
The "Swinger" Is A Dart
"Swinger 340" in the car enthusiast's language is a 1969 Dodge Dart loaded with goodies. The above-named 2-door hardtop comes with a 340-cu.-in. V-8, Hurst-shifted 4-speed manual transmission, heavy-duty suspension, "performance" hood, Bumblebee stripe, and D70 x 14
wide-tread tires.
Inside And Outside Appearance Protection
The 1969 Dodge Dart may be had with "Protection Group" accessories that include a set of four floor mats color-keyed to the car interior. Other items in the group are bumper guards and undercoating.
Special Carburetor Heater
All 6-cylinder engines in the 1969 Dodge Dart line now use a special anti-icing heater in the carburetor. A special stainless-steel tube carries air from the air cleaner through the exhaust manifold and directs the warmed air against the throttle blade in the carburetor.
Side Marker Reflectors
The 1969 Dodge Darts are nighttime stand-outs from the side with the addition of large
side-marker reflectors. These new markers glow in reflected light and are not dependent on the car's regular light system.
Problem Solved!
The problem of where to put the door lock button on two-door car models may not seem like an important one, but it is. In the 1969 Dodge Dart, the lock button has been located farther forward on the door--still within the reach of rear-seat passengers, and more convenient for the driver to use.
Tan Tops
More colors in vinyl tops is the word from Dodge. The 1969 Dart may be ordered with tan, green, white or black vinyl tops to blend or contrast with exterior colors and interior trims.
Wheel Covers And Wheels
1969 Dodge Dart customers may select one of four different wheel treatments, depending on the car of their choice. There are new 13-inch wheel covers to dress-up the less expensive models. For cars equipped with 14-inch wheels, the choice is a Deluxe stainless wheel cover, a simulated "mag" type, or the cast center road wheel.
Battery Saver
Forgetful? The 1969 Dodge Dart dares you to leave the car with the headlights or parking lights on. A gentle buzz reminds you to turn them off when either the driver- or
passenger-side front door is opened.
Fender-Mounted Turn Signals
1969 Dodge Darts feature optional fender-mounted turn signals. This styling touch has its practical side, too. The reflected light is easily visible to the driver so he knows the system is operating.
All-Vinyl Pleated Seats
Pleated seats in black, tan or blue are available as an option in the 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger and Swinger 340. The basic price of these 2-door hardtops is the lowest in the Dodge line, making them ideal for buyers who wish to "build-up" or personalize their car with options.
