Editors: The following "filler" items are designed for use in your new-car or auto-show special sections
Push Button, Clean Glass
Clear vision through the windshield is a must safety experts say.
An optional windshield washer on the 1964 Dodge Dart is actuated by a pushbutton control in the center of the windshield wiper knob. By pushing the button, a jet of glass washing fluid covers the glass area and the wipers remove dirt and road glaze.
New Gas Filler Tube
Heat expands gasoline in automobiles. Such expansion is accommodated in the new Dodge Dart by a new filler tube that provides air space at the top of the fuel tank.
A new automatic choke modulator improves starting reliability of the 1964 Dart.
To alleviate sun glare, Dodge engineers have developed a suede-textured paint for the dash panels of the 1964 Dart.
Remote Control Outside Mirror
The side view mirror, long acknowledged as a safety and convenience feature, is adjusted by remote control on the new Dodge Dart.
The control lever is located at the driver's left on the door panel. Both horizontal and vertical adjustment is possible without opening the window.
New Anchors For Seat Belts
Seat belt installation in the 1964 Dodge Dart permits easy entry and exit to and from the back seat.
The anchors are attached to the tunnel and sill riser, leaving the rear floor unobstructed.
Keep Shifts Smooth
The 1964 Dodge Dart with manual transmission offers new synchronizer springs and pins that maintain shifting smoothness for the life of the transmission. Stainless steel has replaced bronze to eliminate the loss of resilience.
A fully synchronized four-speed transmission is an option on the 1964 Dodge Dart.
To minimize wheel-spin under poor traction conditions, Dodge engineers have developed a Sure-grip axle for the 1964 Dodge Dart.
For safety, the 1964 Dart GT has a strip of reflective tape on the lower door molding. It serves as a precaution for approaching traffic when the door is opened.
New developments in design of the convertible top permit the lowering of the Dodge Dart top without unfastening the rear plastic window.
The rear window of the 1964 Dodge Dart is three inches wider than the '63 window.
An anti-snag device is part of the door latch design in the 1964 Dart. The door "striker" has no protruding edges to catch clothing when entering or leaving the car.
